ROLL TO ROLL COATER REVAMPING

CGS Automazione provides electrical and electronic revamping solutions for Roll to Roll vacuum coating and metallizing machines.

Thanks to its extensive experience in the vacuum coating industry, CGS has developed dedicated solutions for the modernization of existing equipment, replacing obsolete electrical and electronic components with new-generation systems and integrating them into the machine control architecture.

The revamping can involve the source and stepping motor electrical cabinet, web drive system, operator control desk and WCM coating measurement system.

Old source controllers are replaced with modern Eurotherm single-channel controllers connected via PROFINET and fully integrated into the network of the new control system.

Stepping motor control drives are replaced with single-channel systems to simplify maintenance operations. The controllers communicate via Modbus and are integrated with the main PLC through a Modbus-PROFINET converter.

The web drive system is modernized using latest-generation Siemens S120 drives and Siemens 1PH8 motors.

The old analog operator console is also replaced with a completely redesigned control desk equipped with a 19″ full-touch HMI panel, providing access to machine controls, alarms, diagnostics, recipe management and production roll reporting.
